Business Highlights: $30 Million Lubricant Oils Blending Plant: Feasibility study, project recommendation, and establishment of an operating company, front-end engineering, conceptual design, environmental impact assessment and various negotiations. Plant successfully opened in April 99. $109 Million LPG JV: Approval of Chinese central government (MOFTEC) on project feasibility and JV structure. Construction of the largest underground LPG storage facilities in China well under way. $30 Million Caltex China Investment Co.: Establishment of the holding company for all Caltex activities in China Business Development Studies: On-the-ground study of Chinese refining industry and preparation of a JV proposal, survey of Chinese petrochemical industry and aviation business. Public and Government Relations: Liaison with Chinese central and local government officials, interviews of Caltex officials by national TV network, international correspondents and local journalists.
